Perception - The Illusion of Reality

There is no truth ,Only perception

The Universal truth remains same but the viewer/listener/feeler perceive it in their own unique way based on their knowledge,learning & experience gained over a period of time. The perception is a creative process which processes the information seen ,heard or felt in radically different way then what the other person may perceive. Our learning imposes mostly what we perceive, We always look for generally what we are looking for.We always define reality in a manner which validate our agreement with reality.

How aptly summed up by Stephen Covey, I quote, "Each of us tends to think we see things as they are, that we are objective. But this is not the case. We see the world, not as it is, but as we are - or, as we are conditioned to see it. "

So the question remains...are we making our decision objectively & on factual basis or is it just illusion far from reality....Is it not unfair...what need to be done to be on right side or make correct & informed choice.

Let us look at the above two mentioned pictures , if we examine closely the above pictures it will throw some light :

In the first picture the illusion of one line is bigger than other is due to presentation of same length line in such a way that it makes us belief that >---< is bigger than <---> . The external additional features camouflage the appearance of the two identical lines making them appear differently.

In second, all lines are parallel but they do not appear so .The placement of black & white square boxes create a illusion which can be easily perceived as slope lines. A illusion far from reality.

Now if we just try to be rational and before we perceive anything or conclude , We can try removing certain external factors influencing our decision/perception......we may arrive at decision near to realty or truth. Before we perceive let us try to unlearn our-self first then see/hear/feel with analytical view to learn something rather than self assertion that I know this. You shall be nearer to a correct perception ....nearer to reality.

Its your frame of mind...Whether you wanna go up or run down..............

Very few truly seek knowledge, The first step towards seeking knowledge is acknowledging the fact that we are ignorant. One of my teacher said, no one can claim to have complete knowledge .If anyone does so he is so ignorant of the fact that the more we gain knowledge the more we become aware that how less we know...........

We are a absolute non entity as a part of this vast universe ...which even our thought cannot comprehend . But being human ....we have mind which lives on knowledge, reason....it gives us strength ....it liberates us.....it empowers us.

 

Learn to be quite as one learn to talk , because as you talk others come to know about you similarly being quite let you know about others.When you are quiet you gain knowledge from those who are more knowledgeable than you & also you are able to repel the ignorance of those who are more ignorant than you.

As Stephen Hawking Said," The Greatest enemy of knowledge is not the ignorance , it is illusion of Knowledge"

The quest of knowledge should be never ending, One should always try to know something about everything & everything about something. As you gain knowledge ,try to share it as sharing always increase your knowledge.
